Passion has never burned brighter than in the eyes of Chris Martin when he is focused behind the lens of his camera. Chris Martin is a 26 year old professional photographer based out of South Florida. He specializes in commercial, editorial, portrait, wedding, engagement, child, and event photography and this is his story.
“I was born in Somerset, New Jersey on August 28th 1983. At the age of 10 I moved down to Florida with my family and at 15 I fell in love with music and began playing live music at different venues around the South Florida area. At 17, directly after graduating High School a year early I began touring, and started my musical career filling in for a tour playing guitar in the band “Glasseater”. I then moved on to playing lead guitar with the band, “Unsung Zeros”, and soon after decided to go out and tour with my solo music, “Words Now Heard”, for the world to hear.
During this time touring I always had a love for snapping photos wherever I was, but it was almost always on a point and shoot digital or a cheap 35mm film camera. I toured up until 2005 with Words Now Heard, and on breaks from tour lived in Orlando, Gainesville and West Palm Beach respectively. I then took a position as the Director of Merchandising for Orlando, FL based company, AKT Enterprises in November of 2005
It was at AKT Enterprises that I learned the art of screen printing, and also gained an extensive knowledge of how important quality photographs are to aide in marketing and selling products within the music industry and throughout all other industries. I ended up working full time for AKT for 4 years and in June of 2009 left to peruse my passion of photography.
It was a very hard decision to jump off the deep end and leave AKT to be able to go full force with my photography. Since then, through extremely hard work, dedication and constant networking, I have built up an amazing client base, and I am able to sustain myself on photography alone. I am so happy to be doing what I love every day of my life as my career and I would not change anything for the world.”
Chris is known for his work with national recording artists like; A Day To Remember, Four Year Strong, Hey Monday, and major and independent record labels such as; Warner Brothers, Atlantic, Columbia, Fearless, Hopeless, and Fueled by Ramen . His promotional photos grace the pages of publications such as; Alternative Press, Substream, Amp, Kerrang!, and Blunt Magazines and his photos have been licensed for use in the Denver, Colorado Four Seasons Hotel and Spa.
Chris is currently seeking representation for commercial, high fashion, glamour, and beauty photography and is continuing his active work with weddings, portraiture, band promotional photos, events and traveling for different shoots as much as possible.
